How to make the most of your Travel Council Investment
It's not enough to sign the application and send in your check (although the CACVB appreciates that!)… You need to work your investment with the tools Travel Council provides.Step 1: Network
Attend monthly CACVB Travel Council meetings! They are generally held from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm on the second Tuesday of each month at various investor sites in the Charleston area. Reminders are sent via post card and email regarding date, time, and location. These meetings are a terrific opportunity to "meet & greet," / network with your fellow Travel Council investors, as well as key CACVB staff members.
Step 2: Rack Cards
We encourage all investors to maintain a full supply of rack cards for the Visitor Center. This will increase your business' exposure to walk-up visitors. When your supply is getting low, our Visitor Services staff will notify you. Be sure to respond!
Step 3: Leads
It is important for investors to review and respond to the Group Sales and Service leads each week. New leads are available for viewing each Friday afternoon on the Travel Council investor section of our web site. Remember that both new and archived leads are also available online 24-hours a day, 7-days a week in this same section. Please make sure to respond with proposals as soon as you see or receive any lead that applies to your business or property. For hotels, "real-time" sales leads are sent via e-mail directly to those properties that best fit the requirements the group planner is requesting.
The Travel Council Investors Only section of our web site is password protected. These passwords are changed periodically to ensure that your benefits as a Travel Council investor are preserved. We kindly ask you not to share these passwords with others in the industry.

Step 4: charlestontravelcouncil.com
This portion of our web site was designed for use as a tool to help you grow your business. This is where you will find everything you need to know regarding upcoming meetings, special events, industry research, how to access sales & service leads, media kits for CVB publications, investors in the news, industry calendar, tradeshow schedule, images, etc. Remember that this section of the web site is password protected to ensure that your benefits as an investor are protected!
Step 5: Promotional Opportunities
All Travel Council investors are given the opportunity to participate in other CVB services such as: brochure service, inquiry service, Lowcountry Reservation Service, tour ticket program, and advertising co-ops.
